Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Engineering - Factory & Product Assurance
Role Summary:
The Senior Manager, Cybersecurity Engineering - Factory & Product Assurance is a senior leadership role responsible for defining, building, and scaling cybersecurity engineering and assurance programs across industrial manufacturing environments, operational technology (OT), and embedded product ecosystems.
This leader drives the integration of cybersecurity into factory operations and connected products by establishing vision, strategy, and execution models that enable risk based, data driven decisions, accelerate time to market, and strengthen trust in digital and physical manufacturing systems.
The role requires a transformative, no-nonsense leader who can guide highly skilled technical teams through change, partner deeply with business and engineering organizations, and function as a visible evangelist for secure by design manufacturing and product development.
What You Will Do:
Leadership & Strategy
- Establish and communicate a clear vision, mission, and multiyear roadmap for OT and embedded systems cybersecurity engineering and assurance programs.
- Lead and inspire teams of industry professionals, fostering a culture that is energetic, collaborative, resilient, and outcome driven.
- Serve as a change leader, guiding teams and stakeholders through evolving security, regulatory, and business landscapes.
- Break large, complex initiatives into consumable, high impact execution plans that deliver measurable results.
Cybersecurity Engineering & Assurance
- Build, deploy, and continuously improve enterprise scale OT security controls and assurance programs across industrial manufacturing facilities.
- Lead cybersecurity engineering for modern manufacturing systems, aligned to the Purdue Model and contemporary converged.
IT/OT architectures
- Oversee security risk assessments, architecture design reviews, control testing, and assurance activities for factories and connected products.
- Enable secure by design practices across factory automation systems, industrial networks, and embedded platforms.
AI, Automation & Acceleration
- Leverage AI driven and automated capabilities to perform security control assessments, enhance visibility, and significantly accelerate assurance activities.
- Drive efficiency, scalability, and consistency through tooling, analytics, and integration with engineering and operational workflows.
- Enable teams to make data driven, risk-based decisions at speed without compromising security outcomes.
Partnerships & Influence
- Build trusted partnerships with internal business, engineering, product, and operations leaders.
- Influence outcomes through strong communication, negotiation, and cross functional leadership.
- Act as a cybersecurity ambassador, translating complex technical risks into meaningful business context.
- Support accelerated product and factory deployments while ensuring measurable risk reduction.
Standards, Frameworks & Regulatory Alignment
- Ensure alignment with and application of relevant industry standards and frameworks, including:
- NIST Cybersecurity Framework (CSF)
- NIST SP 800 series
- ISO/IEC 27001
- ISO/IEC 62443
- ISO/SAE 21434
- EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) and evolving international regulations
- Guide teams in applying standards pragmatically to real world manufacturing and embedded system environments.

What You Have:
- Proven experience leading large scale OT and embedded cybersecurity engineering programs in industrial or manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success building and managing high performing technical teams.
- Experience applying AI and automation to improve cybersecurity assurance, assessment, or engineering efficiency.
- Deep understanding of modern manufacturing architectures, OT systems, and embedded product security.
- Strong experience working with global standards, architectures, and regulatory requirements.
- Exceptional ability to influence, negotiate, and partner across business and technology organizations.

Summary Pay Range:
$159,120.00 - $238,680.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
