Description
Lead hands-on, outdoor activities that bring science to life for young minds this summer amongst the oak trees in Julian, CA!
At Girl Scouts San Diego Overnight Camp, our Nature & Science Specialist guides campers in exploring the wonders of the environment in fun and meaningful ways. You’ll plan activities and lessons that help campers build an appreciation for the great outdoors while connecting them with their natural surroundings.
What You’ll Do:
- Develop hands-on science activities that immerse campers in STEM and local flora & fauna.
- Create environmental education resources for campers and co-staff.
- Coordinate and lead programming to allow campers the chance to connect with nature through their summer camp experience.
What You’ll Gain:
- Professional experience developing lessons & activities for a variety of age groups
- Meaningful connections with campers while engaging them through nature education

Employment Details:
- Pay: $96 - $102 per day (plus lodging and meals)
- Dates: June 8 - July 25, 2026
Requirements
What You’ll Bring
- Age 18+ by June 8, 2026; age 21+ preferred.
- Ability to commit to entire camp season (June 8 - July 25).
- Knowledge in natural sciences and the outdoors.
- Experience working in a youth-focused camp; environmental education training and work background preferred.
- Ability to appropriately adapt programming and activities for campers ages 7 to 17.
- Desire to live onsite in a communal environment and adapt to working in various outdoor conditions.
- Current First Aid & CPR certification.
- Valid driver's license, access to reliable transportation, and proof of insurance.
