The Engineering Technician 2, independently executes test plans, supports troubleshooting, and contributes to test method development. This role requires strong technical competence, sound judgment, and consistent adherence to safety and documentation standards.:
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for demonstrating commitment to and leadership of environmental health and safety principles, policies and procedures.
- Execute engineering test plans with minimal supervision (reliability, endurance, environmental, and accuracy testing)
- Conduct live-fire testing and advanced functional evaluations
- Assemble, modify, and configure test articles per engineering direction
- Troubleshoot firearm and component failures and document root causes
- Collect, analyze, and summarize test data for engineering review
- Support development and validation of new test fixtures and methods
- Interface with Design, Manufacturing, and Quality teams during testing
- Train and mentor Technician I personnel
- Ensure test activities comply with internal procedures and regulatory requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 25 years of relevant test, manufacturing, or firearms experience
- Strong understanding of firearm systems and operating principles
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools and test equipment
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Preferred skills: experience with endurance, environmental, or military-style test protocols; basic data analysis and reporting experience; and exposure to root cause analysis and corrective action processes.
