Description
Who we areAt Twelve Labs, we are pioneering the development of cutting-edge multimodal foundation models that have the ability to comprehend videos just like humans do. Our models have redefined the standards in video-language modeling, empowering us with more intuitive and far-reaching capabilities, and fundamentally transforming the way we interact with and analyze various forms of media.
With a remarkable $107 million in Seed and Series A funding, our company is backed by top-tier venture capital firms such as NVIDIA's NVentures, NEA, Radical Ventures, and Index Ventures, and prominent AI visionaries and founders such as Fei-Fei Li, Silvio Savarese, Alexandr Wang and more. Headquartered in San Francisco, with an influential APAC presence in Seoul, our global footprint underscores our commitment to driving worldwide innovation.
We are a global company that values the uniqueness of each person's journey. It is the differences in our cultural, educational, and life experiences that allow us to constantly challenge the status quo. We are looking for individuals who are motivated by our mission and eager to make an impact as we push the bounds of technology to transform the world. Join us as we revolutionize video understanding and multimodal AI.
About the Role
At TwelveLabs, our foundation models - Marengo and Pegasus - are redefining what's possible with video understanding. But models alone don't create value. Products do.
As an Engineering Manager, Products, you will own the bridge between our model capabilities and the experiences our customers actually use. You'll lead the Korea-based product engineering team end-to-end: setting the technical direction, shipping production-grade software, and building a team that moves with both speed and craft.
This isn't a role where you manage from a distance. You'll stay close to the code - driving architecture decisions, unblocking your team on hard technical problems, and holding a high bar for what good looks like. At the same time, you'll operate as a true owner of the product engineering surface: translating ambiguous goals into clear plans, partnering with Product and Science teams, and ensuring that every new model capability finds its way into the hands of customers quickly and correctly.
We're at a stage where the decisions you make - about the team, the architecture, and the product - will have lasting impact. If you're energized by building things that don't yet exist, leading people who care deeply about their craft, and operating at the intersection of AI and product, this is the role for you.
In this role, you will
Turning AI Models into Products
- Own the end-to-end product engineering surface built on top of TwelveLabs' foundation models - Marengo and Pㅈegasus. Translate model capabilities and constraints into reliable, high-quality customer-facing features and workflows.
- Drive the product engineering roadmap for the Korea team: from understanding customer needs and use cases to shipping well-crafted, production-grade software.
- Work closely with Science and ML teams to stay ahead of model developments, and ensure new capabilities are productionized quickly and correctly.
- Hold a high bar for product quality - what customers see, touch, and feel matters as much as what's under the hood.
- Lead, grow, and manage a fullstack product engineering team in Korea. Own the full management lifecycle: recruiting, onboarding, 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development.
- Build a culture of ownership, speed, and craft - where the team ships with urgency without sacrificing quality or user experience.
- Lead architectural and technical decision-making for the team. Stay hands-on where it matters: system design reviews, critical-path decisions, and high-risk technical areas.
- Translate product and company goals into clear technical plans, milestones, and timelines. Make trade-offs explicit and manage dependencies across pods.
- Drive fast, predictable release cycles through structured planning, weekly reviews, and retrospectives that lead to continuous improvement. Own delivery, quality, and operational excellence end-to-end.
- Collaborate closely with Product, GTM, and Science teams to align on roadmap, priorities, and customer needs.
You may be a good fit if you have
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience, with 3+ years in an engineering management role leading fullstack product teams.
- Experience building and shipping customer-facing products in B2B or enterprise contexts, with a high bar for product quality and user experience.
- Strong fullstack engineering background - you can credibly review and guide decisions across frontend, backend, and infra layers.
- Demonstrated ability to translate ambiguous product goals into clear technical execution: scoping, planning, and delivery with minimal overhead.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to align cross-functional teams across KR and US time zones.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience taking a product from 0 to 1 - you've navigated ambiguity, made early architectural bets, and shipped something that didn't exist before.
- Experience scaling a product from 1 to many - you've hardened systems under real load, managed growing team complexity, and maintained quality while expanding scope.
- Familiarity with modern software engineering and infrastructure stacks - e.g., Python, Go, TypeScript/React, AWS, Kubernetes.
- Business-level English proficiency - able to communicate clearly in writing and in meetings with cross-functional and international stakeholders.
