Director, Engineering
The Engineering Director is a high-level executive within the Facilities Engineering Department, responsible for strategic planning, policy development, and decision-making. The role requires comprehensive understanding of the full scope of engineering operations, including the physical plant, HVAC systems, electrical systems, plumbing, and general maintenance.
Job Duties:

Strategic Vision and Goal Setting: Establish a clear strategic vision for the engineering department, setting specific, measurable, achievable, relevant goals that align with the overall objectives of the organization.

Plan Development: Develop a comprehensive strategic plan that outlines key initiatives, projects, and actions required to achieve the department's goals, including resource allocation, timelines, and milestones.

Stakeholder Engagement: Involve key stakeholders in the planning process, including department team members, other organizational departments, and external partners, to ensure broad support and alignment.

Implementation and Management: Execute the strategic plan, managing resources, overseeing project progress, and adjusting strategies as necessary to respond to changing conditions and new opportunities.

Performance Tracking and Reporting: Monitor and evaluate the performance of the department against the strategic plan, regularly reporting progress to upper management and adjusting the plan as needed to ensure success.

Ensure efficient use of CMMS workorder system for all operational tasks.
Requirements

Bachelor's degree is required.

4 Years job related experience is required.

Kentucky Driver's License required.
Preferred Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, with 4+ years of progressive leadership experience in facilities engineering, plant operations, or maintenance management within a hospital or health system environment is highly preferred.

Demonstrated experience overseeing hospital or healthcare facility infrastructure, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, Bio-Med engineering, preventive maintenance, and general operations, with strong CMMS utilization skills is preferred.

Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams in a fast?paced, highly regulated healthcare environment, with working knowledge of CMS, Joint Commission, ACHC, OSHA, and state/local compliance standards is strongly preferred.

Experience managing capital improvement projects, facility upgrades, construction initiatives, and long?term strategic planning for engineering or plant operations departments is preferred.

Professional certification such as CHFM or CHE preferred.
