Key Responsibilities
- Lead and grow the electrical engineering department — staffing, structure, succession planning, and setting the standards everyone else works to.
- Serve as Engineer of Record on complex electrical projects across commercial, institutional, healthcare, higher education, and government facilities.
- Design and document power distribution, lighting, fire alarm, low-voltage, emergency power, and critical systems from concept through construction.
- Partner with executive leadership on strategic goals for the discipline and represent the practice in client meetings and industry events.
- Coordinate across architecture and MEP teams throughout design development, resolving complex technical challenges as they arise.
- Oversee project delivery across multiple market sectors, ensuring electrical scopes land on time and within budget.
- Support business development — proposals, pursuits, and identifying new market opportunities and service offerings.
Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of progressive electrical engineering experience, including leadership roles.
- Active PE license in Maryland, Virginia, and/or Washington DC.
- Strong working knowledge of NEC, NFPA, IECC, ASHRAE, and local jurisdictional codes.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and electrical calculation tools; experience coordinating within BIM and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Proven ability to lead teams, manage competing priorities, and influence at the executive level.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
