The Department of Electrical, Computer & Energy Engineering (ECEE) in the College of Engineering and Applied Science (CEAS) at the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) invites applications for a full-time Teaching Faculty position with the Engineering Partnership Program (EPP) at Colorado Mesa University (CMU). This position is based at Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado and is anticipated to begin in August 2027.
This position involves teaching upper-division undergraduate engineering courses which could include:
Microelectronics
Electromagnetic fields and waves
Senior design/capstone courses
Power electronics and/or power systems
Engineering electives aligned with program needs and also available to electrical engineering students
This position has responsibilities for teaching three undergraduate engineering courses per semester. In addition to teaching, responsibilities of this position also include:
serving on EPP committees
evaluation activities for program accreditation
student mentoring and advising
outreach and recruiting
professional development
fostering and maintaining relationships with industry
This position is anticipated to be hired at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank; however, qualified candidates may be considered at the Associate Teaching Professor rank.

Who We Are
Since 2008, the University of Colorado Boulder (CU Boulder) has offered accredited bachelor’s degrees in engineering at Colorado Mesa University (CMU) through the Engineering Partnership Program (EPP). Students spend the first two years taking courses with CMU faculty, and the remainder of the program is taught on-site by CU Boulder faculty permanently based at CMU. Students benefit from:

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be
Teach three courses per semester.
Provide service to the Engineering Partnership Program by serving on EPP committees, engaging in evaluation activities for program accreditation, mentoring and advising students, engaging in outreach, recruiting, and professional development, and fostering and maintaining relationships with industry
The typical distribution of work for this role is 80% teaching and 20% leadership and service.
The selected candidate will be offered a multi-year contract which may be renewable; specific term length will vary based on start date.

The position is employed by the University of Colorado Boulder but based full-time on the campus of Colorado Mesa University in Grand Junction, Colorado.

What We Can Offer
The anticipated salary range for this position at the Assistant Teaching Professor rank is $85,000 - $95,000 academic year salary.
Qualified candidates will be considered for the Associate Teaching Professor rank. The salary range for this position at the Associate Teaching Professor rank is $90,000 - $105,000 dependent on rank.
A relocation stipend is available within CEAS guidelines.

Requirements
What We Require
Candidate must have a doctorate degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field conferred by the time they start in their faculty role;
OR
A master’s degree in electrical engineering or a closely related field with either:
at least 4 years of experience working in a related industry, OR
a minimum of 4 years of teaching engineering or a closely related field at a higher education level.
For a candidate to be considered for appointment to the Associate Teaching Professor rank, in addition to the above, the applicant must also have a minimum of 6 years’ experience teaching engineering courses at a higher education level and meet unit criteria at this level.
