Position Summary

In this role you will manage and provide day-to-day leadership of the pharmacy and health care delivery privacy legal and compliance teams under the direction of the Chief Privacy Officer. You and your team will proactively advise business partners on a wide variety of matters and work collaboratively with other CVS Health attorneys and partners on matters related to privacy legal and regulatory compliance.

As a member of the Legal team, you will gain experience working with a dynamic in-house legal department and play a key role in supporting the business. You will recommend practical and sound advice to internal clients on legal issues related to business objectives and take an active role in driving projects to final result. This position involves mentoring, training and overseeing the work of legal and compliance professionals within the Privacy Office.

Required Qualifications

• 10+ years of legal experience with a law firm, healthcare company or health system focused on issues related to healthcare and consumer privacy
• Admitted to practice law in at least one state and member in good standing of applicable state bar association(s)
• Bachelor's Degree and Juris Doctorate
• Deep subject matter expertise of privacy laws such as HIPAA and state consumer privacy laws

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of healthcare laws and regulations including one or more of the following:
  • Federal and State False Claims Act
  • Federal and State Anti-Kickback Statute
  • State medical practice and healthcare law
  • Experience supporting businesses with online platforms providing regulated services.
• Experience with aspects of healthcare related to provision of health care, or pharmacy services.

• Experience drafting and negotiating complex services agreements.
• Ability to collaborate effectively and work as a team player.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, initiative, and drive.

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$185,400.00 - $375,950.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above. This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.
