Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer

Campbell University invites applications, expressions of interest, and nominations for the role of Vice President for Information Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO). The University seeks an experienced, strategic, and highly effective information technology leader with strong interpersonal and communication skills to provide decision-support to the President and leadership team to optimize the strategic allocation of resources in supporting Campbell's mission.

Reporting directly to the President, the CIO is responsible for establishing and executing the university-wide IT strategy, ensuring its integration with academic and administrative strategies, and ensuring its reliability and security. The CIO will lead the organization’s information technology function across Campbell University’s eight schools, three campuses, and extended and online programs. The CIO designs and implements a strategic vision of how technology supports and transforms the educational, research, and administrative functions of the university and provides oversight for the technological infrastructure of the University, including information security, academic and enterprise computing, client support services, telecommunications, digital media services, and network systems. The CIO will stay abreast of security threats and the implication of emerging technologies, including AI enabled technologies.

The CIO will listen carefully to the needs of students, faculty, staff, administrators and alumni in assessing the strategic priorities and will advise the President and leadership team on enterprise technology investments, champion modernization and analytics innovation, digital transformation, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies to elevate academic excellence and operational performance.
