Description
Position Description: The Applied Mathematics area in the John A. Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences (SEAS) at Harvard University seeks applicants for a tenured position in Applied Mathematics. The expected start date is July 1, 2026.
The successful applicant will be a member of the Applied Mathematics area in the interdisciplinary environment of SEAS and provide foundational contributions that will empower broad scientific and engineering fields. The AM/SEAS community of scholars also endeavors to educate the next generation of scientists and engineers with a view towards developing applications with strong mathematical and computing foundations for addressing societal challenges.
Basic Qualifications: Doctoral degree in Computing-related areas (including disciplines like Applied Mathematics, High Performance Computing, Life Sciences, Environmental Science, Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, etc.) or other related discipline is required by the time the appointment begins.
Additional Qualifications: Demonstrated strong commitment to teaching, advising, and research is desired. Candidates should also evince intellectual leadership and impact on the field and potential for significant contributions to the department, University, and wider scholarly community.
