Overview
As a roadway engineering designer, you'll support transportation improvement projects with the design and detailing of local, county, and state roadway and highway projects. You'll assist with geometric analyses and calculations using established design criteria and standard software. The roadway engineering designer reports to the project manager.
Salary Range is $70,000-$85,000 per year.
Responsibilities
- Perform work that involves conventional types of civil engineering plans, methods, and solutions with moderately complex features.
- Conduct a range of fundamental design activities to acquire familiarity with programs, standards, specifications, and procedures relevant to consulting engineering for public infrastructure.
- Coordinate project assignments with those of other engineers and technicians in your discipline group.
- Examine documents and standards provided by the client to assess existing conditions and the proposed execution plan for the project
- Assist in initial design studies, project planning, and associated activities that contribute to the development of a project's design.
- Create detailed 3D modeling and plan production in support of development of plans, specifications, and estimates on various municipal infrastructure and transportation infrastructure projects involving local, state, and federal clients.
- Become familiar with various design manual standards and specifications.
- Follow our quality control process to ensure high caliber work products.
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering.
- Engineer-in- Training (EIT) Certification.
- Profiecient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation
- This hybrid job operates between an office environment and a field environment and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones and copy machines. May require occasional exposure to work environments that may include inclement weather, heat, humidity, noise, hazard, atmospheric conditions, and bodies of water, depending on project requirements.
- While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
