Description
Leidos is seeking a university student to join our CIO organization within TC&SD, supporting the Data Center & Network Services (DCNS) team. This position sits within Network & Access Engineering (NAE) and provides hands-on experience supporting enterprise data center switching initiatives.The selected candidate will work directly with the Data Center Switching Technical Lead in support of the WAN Team Lead and NAE Senior Manager. This role offers practical exposure to enterprise-grade network infrastructure, modern switching platforms, and mission-critical data center modernization efforts.
This internship is designed for students pursuing careers in network engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cybersecurity, and provides direct involvement in active data center transformation initiatives.
Primary Responsibilities
- Support ongoing data center switching initiatives within the NAE team
- Assist with Out-of-Band (OOB) management switch replacements utilizing Arista platforms
- Contribute to Arista switching build-out for an iSCSI enclave supporting service migrations
- Support the design and implementation of new Oracle RAC infrastructure leveraging Arista switching
- Assist with switch configuration, validation, testing, and documentation activities
- Participate in troubleshooting and root cause analysis efforts
- Collaborate with network engineers to ensure high availability, resiliency, and performance
- Develop and maintain technical documentation and implementation procedures
- Gain exposure to enterprise data center operational processes and change management workflows
Basic Qualifications
- Actively enrolled in an accredited graduate or undergraduate program
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or related technical field
- US citizenship required
- Foundational understanding of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, switching)
- Familiarity with enterprise switching concepts
- Strong problem-solving skills and technical curiosity
- Ability to work independently in a remote team environment

Pay Range:
Pay Range $48,100.00 - $86,950.00
The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
