Description
This is your chance to change the path of your career and guide multiple teams to success at one of the world's leading financial institutions.As a Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the Consumer and Community Banking technology - Deposits Platform, you lead multiple teams and manage day-to-day implementation activities by identifying and escalating issues and ensuring your team's work adheres to compliance standards, business requirements, and tactical best practices.
Job responsibilities
- Provides guidance to immediate team of software engineers on daily tasks and activities
- Sets the overall guidance and expectations for team output, practices, and collaboration
- Anticipates dependencies with other teams to deliver products and applications in line with business requirements
- Manages stakeholder relationships and the team's work in accordance with compliance standards, service level agreements, and business requirements
- Creates a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for the team members and prioritizes diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience. In addition, demonstrated coaching and mentoring experience
- Experience leading technology projects and Experience managing technologists
- Deep proficiency in reliability, scalability, performance, security, enterprise system architecture, toil reduction, and other site reliability best practices with the ability to implement these practices within an application or platform
- Fluency in at least one programming language such as (e.g., Python, Java Spring Boot, .Net, etc.)
- Deep knowledge of software applications and technical processes with emerging depth in one or more technical disciplines
- Proficiency and experience in observability such as white and black box monitoring, SLO alerting, and telemetry collection using tools such as Grafana, Dynatrace, Prometheus, Datadog, Splunk, etc.
- Proficiency in continuous integration and continuous delivery tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab, Terraform, etc.)
- Experience with container and container orchestration (e.g., ECS, Kubernetes, Docker, etc.)
- Experience with troubleshooting common networking technologies and issues
Ability to identify and solve problems related to complex data structures and algorithms - Drive to self-educate and evaluate new technology
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience working at code level
- Enthusiasm for learning new technologies, with a focus on public cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
