As the Director of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Our Consumer & Community Banking unit, you will lead a technical area and promote impact across teams, technologies, and projects within various departments. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of software, applications, technical processes, and product management to oversee multiple complex projects and initiatives. In this role, you will serve as the primary decision maker for your teams and act as a catalyst for innovation and solution delivery

Job responsibilities

• Leads technology and process implementations to achieve business objectives and enhancing user experience across channels.
• Makes decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures
• Carries governance accountability for coding decisions, control obligations, and measures of success such as cost of ownership, maintainability, and portfolio operations
• Delivers technical solutions that can be leveraged across multiple businesses and domains
• Influences peer leaders and senior stakeholders across the business, product, and technology teams
• Champions the firm's culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years applied experience. In addition, 5+ years of experience leading technologists to manage, anticipate and solve complex technical items within your domain of expertise
• Strategic Leadership: Lead the vision, strategy, and execution for enterprise application development, ensuring alignment with business goals and user experience priorities.
• Hands on product development and engineering leadership experience building and scaling enterprise application focused on user experience.
• Expertise in domain driven design, development, and scaling of complex, cloud-native applications using modern frameworks and technologies such as Java Full Stack, React, micro front end architectures, Kafka, and AWS.
• Experience enhancing developer efficiency with AI-driven tools and practice
• Experience developing and leading cross-functional teams of technologists
• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent
• Experience leading a product as a Technology Owner
• Practical cloud native experience
• Expertise in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience working at code level
