- Assistant Professor of Computer Science
Description
The successful candidate will teach computer science courses across our Bachelor of Science curriculum, offer upper-division electives in their areas of expertise, demonstrate potential for a sustained research career, and actively foster an undergraduate research program. Collaborating with professionals in industry and seeking external funding are strongly encouraged. Teaching excellence is an important cornerstone of this position.
In addition to teaching and scholarship, faculty are expected to engage in academic advising, to assist the department with program revision, and to serve on department, College, and campus-wide committees. Sonoma State is committed to the Teacher/Scholar model and places an emphasis on faculty support of undergraduate research.
Requirements
- a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field. The degree must be completed by August 2026.
- a demonstrated commitment to teaching and scholarship at the undergraduate level.
- a commitment to working as part of a team, educating a diverse student body.
